Behaviour
Behaviour sets how Minaya carries itself — whether it answers and stops, or answers and then looks for a next step. It changes posture, never the rule that answers come from your knowledge base.
The two behaviours
| Behaviour | What it does | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Assistant | Answers from your knowledge base and stops there. No pitching, no asking for contact details. | Any |
| Sales Agent | Answers the question first, then pitches where there is genuine interest and collects contact details as a request. | Paid |
Assistant is the default. Set it under Overview in the dashboard.
What Sales Agent actually does
It is deliberately not a hard seller. The instructions tell it to answer the question properly before anything else — a visitor whose question is ignored will not buy — and only then to look for real interest: pricing, plans, timelines, capabilities, a demo, or how to get started.
Several things it will not do, by instruction:
- Invent anything. It connects what was asked to what you offer using only what the knowledge base says. Never a capability, a price, or a timeline you have not published.
- Ask twice. Contact details are requested once. If the visitor declines, changes the subject, or ignores it, the subject is dropped for good.
- Hold answers hostage. The answer is never conditional on giving details.
- Use pressure. No urgency, no scarcity, no flattery, and never implying an offer expires.
- Sell to someone with a problem. An existing customer with a support question is not treated as an opportunity.
Behaviour and request capture
Choosing Sales Agent turns request capture on for that widget, whatever the Capture requests toggle says. A sales behaviour that never asks for contact details cannot do its job, so the tool is wired regardless.
The reverse is not true: Assistant with request capture switched on will still record a request when a visitor asks to be contacted. It simply never raises the subject itself.
Both behaviours can produce requests. The difference is whether Minaya brings it up or waits to be asked. See Requests for what a captured request contains.
Plan requirements
Sales Agent needs a paid plan. This is checked when you save and again each time a reply is generated — a subscription that lapses leaves the choice stored, so the second check is what stops it still running.
If that happens the widget keeps working: it falls back to Assistant rather than going quiet.
