Your account
How you sign in to Minaya, under Settings in the dashboard.
Two ways in
You can sign in with Google, with an email and password, or both. They are additive: adding a password does not disable Google sign-in, and removing one leaves the other working.
Confirming your email
Signing up with an email and password sends a confirmation link to that address. The dashboard stays locked until you click it — so a typo at signup is caught straight away rather than after you have built something on an address you cannot receive mail at.
Until then, signing in shows Check your email instead of the dashboard, with a button to send the link again. Requesting a new one replaces the previous link, so always use the most recent email. If nothing arrives within a minute or two, check the spam folder.
Continue with Google skips this entirely: Google has already confirmed the address, so the account is active immediately.
Sent to the wrong address? Start over on that screen clears the half-finished signup so you can register again with the right one.
Setting a password
An account created through Google has no password. The Settings page notices this and offers Set a password rather than “change” — and does not ask for a current password, because there is not one.
If you already have a password, changing it requires the current one. That is what stops someone with a borrowed session locking you out of your own account.
Passwords must be at least 8 characters.
Forgotten passwords
Signing in has a Forgot password? link. What happens next depends on how the account was made:
- Signed up with Google. Use Continue with Google. That proves who you are without an email round-trip, and lands you on the form that sets a password.
- Signed up with a password. Enter your email and a reset link is sent. Requesting another replaces the previous one, so use the most recent email.
Setting a new password invalidates any outstanding reset link, so an old email cannot be used to take the account back later.
